About

After being in Gridania she grew rather fond of the locale and now resides within Gridania of her own volition. As her kind and loving nature further added onto her beliefs of her role of that of a healer, she studied relentlessly to further her knowledge. While doing such, she unintentionally alienated herself from the locale and thus become rather lonely. When walking around Gridania one day she caught wind of a Free Company and managed to strike up conversation. As one thing progressed to another, she ended up joining the ranks the Free Company. things were going relatively smoothly and smiles were had and laughs shared.
The small, tight-nit, Free Company disbanded with little to no reason. all say for one or two others seemingly disappeared out of reality almost, as if leaving for another world. The others who stayed behind travel Eorzea attending to their own businesses as if nothing had happened. A saddened Elaina traveled around the lands for a while, trying to recapture the once known happiness but inevitably failed and realized she shouldnt be trying to replace people or emotions, but rather to move on, not dwell, and keep her "Eyes Up" as on old friend once said.
After time had passed she found herself within another FC, with the new friends she has made in it, it fills her heart with Hope for the future. She admires and loves the poeple within her new FC and has come to settle in it's cozy life, even going as far as to purchase housing within their quarters.

She spent a grand majority of her time studying at the Gridanian Inn to further her studies and knowledge. Elaina has always been interested in history, especially the history regarding White Magic and the Calamities of Eorzea. She even had the opportunity to assist in a lecture regarding the calamities at the Conjurer's Guild and teaching become a small side passion of hers ever since. However without proper planning for the event, some random spur of the moment questions she gets puts her into a fluster and she can sometimes forget common knowledge by being put on the spot.

She has extreme amounts of patience and only hopes to inspire others to have the same. Loves to teach others whenever possible and be a guiding hand whenever the chance occurs. She tends to be an open book when talked to and loves to answer questions when the busy adventurer has time. She wishes to bring happiness into the world by creating it herself. "Your environment affects you crucially everyday and you may never know it untill you have hit an extreme on either side of the spectrum... If your in a positive environment with happiness flowing throughout the air, eventually that environment will touch you. I wish to spread positivity and happiness like wildfire... Twelve knows the world needs it..." -Elaina Everleigh

Tidbits...

Recently Elaina was spotted in Ul'Dah arguing with another of her Elezan, of which slightly resembled her but was a tad younger witnesses report.
"Ive never actually heard Elaina yell at someone before... Shocked me actually. Shes a kindred soul, something MUST have happened for her to go that far. All i know is that the younger female she was talkin' to not only looked a lot like her, but made a couple sneer comments. The younger one shouted one last comment of: 'WE WERE BOTH USELESS, BOTH OF US. WE WATCHED AS IT HAPPEN ELAINA, IF WE WOULD HAVE HAD STRENGTH THEN MOM WOULDNT HAVE-' And all i saw after that is Elaina stop dead in her tracks and her voice dropped to a hush and i could barely hear her as she whispered "but the path your choosing certainly wont bring them back...". Then i saw her walk away and coulda swore she was cryin... Would started beatin the hell out that little one who made Elaina cry but she herself looked quite angry at Elaina's remark and i didnt wanna mess with someone whos scary AND pissed off..." -Ul'Dah Citizen

Elaina can more often than not, be found in Gridania's Inn.

She can also be a sucker for fashion and beauty at times. (Especially in her room when no ones snooping)

History

Of direct descendant of one of Gelmorra's Royal bloodlines, she is part of one of the few remaining families that escaped the wrath of the Elementals during the original purge of people within the Shroud and ESPECIALLY of those who knew and utilized White and Black magicks.
Her Bloodline: House Everleigh, stayed hidden within the depths of Gelmorra, guarding and passing down the teachings of both White and Black magic respectively even long after Gridania was founded. Elaina's Lineage in specific had the most knowledge and taught both magicks in House Everleigh which explains the family's decision to remain in Gelmorra, long after many others left. Her's was not the only lineage to do this however.
As far as she is aware, both her parents have been killed. She and her sister (that she doesnt talk about) would have been slaughtered too, had they not been whisked away from the hidden depths of the secret Galmorran society at a young age with the help of the House's servants.
With the Help of these House Servants Scullivan and Vivi, She and her sister began life above ground near Gridania shortly after their parents slaughter. Details of the incident were kept hidden from the children (Elaina and her Sister) by Vivi and Scullivan. The two Retainers raised them for a few years before a sibling-fallout occurred. It is these events that shaped her into who she is.
Has explicit dislike of the use of Black Magic, therefore, shortly after becoming an adult and coming to the realization that she had been gifted the Echo, and the Blessing of Light: she intensely turned her focus towards advanced Conjury and White Magic. Partly because she felt it was her calling, partly due to counteract the dark path her sister had chosen to take.
Almost exclusively uses her magic for healing

Until Death Doth Sisters Part

The two Everleigh sisters witnessed the death of their father and brutal murder of their mother when they were young. They both also took away two extremely differing viewpoints from it all, after recovering from the trauma as best they could. Elaina's younger sister developed brooding habits. "Stewing in one's own melancholy by themselves isn't healthy and leads nowhere pleasant" said Vivi, the house servan-turn care-taker, on multiple occasions as she would try to get her to open up to no avail. Elaina eventually had no problem opening up and ended up taking somewhat after Vivi in terms of personality. She became a sweet-hearted and pure girl growing from the pits of darkness, hell-bent on making sure no one has to suffer like she did, "Come hell or high water".
Her sister however did not take the same route. She ended up keeping her feelings bottled up, often times reduced to fits of anger and violence. Stemming from the same pits of darkness, this vine grew along the cracks of the wall, fueled by a hatrid she never let go of. As she was growing up, both the surviving house servants Vivi and Scullivan tried their best to raise her correctly but their efforts unfortunately went in vain as these toxic traits only developed further. She grew to have an extremely hostile attitude towards people and a dark demeanor. She avidly grew to dislike Vivi and Scullivan and blaming them for her parents death by "not being strong enough to handle things". Her anger and thirst for power drove her to study Black magicks just as intensely as Elaina studied the opposite.
Vivi and Scullivan did not hesitate to teach them the magicks they desired as it was their job to help apprentice the Everleigh daughters into holders of the secrets of these arts, however the two retainers were not their parents and failed to teach them everything they could have. Upon learning this, Elaina's sister grew furious and flew into a fit of rage. She yelled and screamed that they were lying to her and "withholding Family knowledge" from her. The then teenage girl grabbed one of Scullivan's swords and threatened to kill them both if they continued to lie to "The Everleigh Heiress". It is this very encounter where her and Elaina had the falling-out that would sever family ties for years to come.

The Day Where Familial Ties Were Severed.
(The events that Transpired)

In a tiny cabin, deep in the Twelveswood of Gridania a voice rang out from within with such anger that the crows outside flew away in terror.
“What do you mean you mean there’s nothing more to teach me?” [Redacted]’s face grimaced towards Vivi. Vivi’s long rabbit ears lowered slightly at her hostility then grew slightly worried as a half-nervous expression crept over her soft, pale face. She glanced towards the tan-skinned Roe, Scullivan for help with the matter. As he walked over, he could feel the scorn emanating from [Redacted]. Scullivan approached the now 14-year-old girl with caution but an open heart.
“She means that you two girls, may be of House Everleigh, but there are teachings that even we do-“ he tried to reassure her but was immediately cut off by intense screaming.
“THAT’S BULLSHIT!” She yelled in anger. She narrowed her Green, eyes at him and she started to clench her fists.
Vivi snapped immediately: “Language young Lady!”. [Redacted] turned her nose up at the Viera’s words and only responded with an agitated click of her tongue before returning her glare to the towering Scullivan. The then 15-year-old Elaina sat at the kitchen counter and peered up from her studies with a set of two Emerald eyes, watchful as events involving her younger sister played out.
“Do you realize you are withholding information from an Everleigh Heiress!?” [Redacted] shouted in rage.
Scullivan furrowed his brow and broadened his shoulders and looked at the Duskwight child with a firm expression. “You are one-half of the names Heir. You are to not act coy, child. You have been told that we are unable to teach you any further because even WE were not taught by your parents the more advanced teachings of your respected schools of magicks. Those who DID know, stayed back when accidents unfolded in Gelmorra. This I’m sure you MUST know by now.”
[Redacted]’s eyes narrowed and she spoke softly with malice on her tongue: “all I know is that you two should’ve died back there as well. Useless cowards with not the power to save anyone but two small children. If maybe not for your two incompetence, my parents would still be alive. Both of you are to blame for not being strong enough to handle things”.
Vivi fell to her knees, tears welling up at the reception of such hateful words from the child she helped raise. She started to shake her head, crying to herself. Trying to convince her own mind that those mindless murders weren’t her fault. Scullivan ran over to try and comfort her, keeping his back to the child and looking Vivi in the eyes and making an attempt to dry her tears. [Redacted] stood up out of the bed she was studying on, hatrid and malice still fueling her words and thoughts. She walked over to the two and took Scullivans massive sword that was leaning against the wall and raised it high before letting gravity draw the blade downwards towards the two Retainers.
The blade cut through almost 9 inches vertically into Elaina’s massive text book that she held. Elaina now stood with her back to Scullivan, facing down her sister, book in hand. Elaina stared down at the floorboards of the cabin, her hair in her eyes, not gazing upwards, sword-infused book still in hand.
“You would raise a weapon to those who gave their lives to protect and raise us, you have let your hatred live and dwell in you for so long that it now corrupts you blindly, and now-“ she glances in her right hand to glance at what saved the Retainers lives. “And now you ruin a perfectly good textbook”.
[Redacted] scoffed and hissed: “you’re joking right? Besides, arnt you worried about what theyre HIDING FROM US!?”. Vivi and Scullivan looked at the floor in downcast. “SEE!? YOU CANT TELL ME YOU DON’T SEE THEYRE HIDING SOMETHING FROM US!?” [Redacted] cried out as she withdrew the sword from the now severed tome in Elaina’s hand. Elaina cast the book to the floor while picking up Vivi’s staff. Scullivan started to stand up but was halted by Elainas gentle hand on his shoulder. A silent notion telling him to leave things to her this time. “Then, it means we are not ready for whatever truths they keep so closely guarded. I love you with all of my being, but you will not strike them down Dearest Sister.”
[Redacted]’s face turned into a sneer. “And you’re to stop me? You and your innocence and refusal to look truth into its eyes? One whose smile only breeds false hope? A disgusting deception. A horrid attempt to shield people from the truth of the world.”
Elaina’s face remained calm and neutral. “You speak of truth you know not of”. Was her only response. [Redacted]’s face become wrought with anger. Her soul overfilled now with a hatred that now stained her very soul. Her Aether become dull and twisted itself. A Distorted Purple aura flowed around her and stained her Left Eye a deep Amethyst. A dark purple. She lunged toward Elaina, sword in hand and made a massive upward swing that nearly tore Elaina in half. She managed to backstep to avoid most of it, but failed to dodge it in its entirety. A deep cut from between her eyes ran down her nose and trailed off to the side of her left cheek. A single tear rolled down her face.
“Please, I don’t want to fight my Little Sister….not like this..”
“I DON’T CARE WHAT YOU WANT! ALL OF YOU ARE WEAK, NONE OF YOU HAD THE CAPABILITY TO SAVE ANYONE BACK THEN, AND NONE OF YOU EVER WILL!” [Redacted] screeched in hatred as swung wildly at Elaina with the sword. Scullivan shielded Vivi in the corner as he held her down to not interfere. He whispered to her: “this has been a long time coming, we both know this. If anyone will ever get through to [Redacted], its her Sister”. Elaina hoisted the staff into the air and the area immediately around her body began to flow like water. Elaina whispered to the staff: “Divine Benison”. The air stopped flowing and immediately crystalized, a crystal clear layer now hovered above her skin.
“ILL KILL YOU, ILL KILL ALL THREE OF YOU AND MAKE YOU PAY FOR TAKING EVERYTHING FROM ME” as she rushed towards Elaina and started to hack and slash. Every cut was met with futility as the crystalized water barrier absorbed every blow. [Redacted] stopped for a moment before backing away, realizing the futility of her attacks. She backed away and sneered. “Parlor tricks will not save you now sister” she spoke as her left eyes aura flamed. Her Aether ebbed and flowed like oceans lapping at a beach shore. It started to envelope the sword she clutched as [Redacted] brought the sword up to her mouth and whispered something inaudible. Her dark aura grew and the sword now pulsated, seeped with dark Aether. She dashed forward towards Elaina, sword overhead.
“Sister, I love you. Im so very sorry I was unable to heal your heart.” Elaina said in tears as a bright white Aether enveloped her. It whipped over her, ebbed and flowed like her sisters. It coiled around her and climbed up from the ground to the top of her head and stained her left eye a deep sapphire-blue. She clutched the staff in her hand and spoke through heartbroken tears. “Begone my beloved Sister”.
A bright light filled the room as [Redacted] slammed the sword down. As the light faded away, Elaina was left laying, tear-stained and unconscious on the wooden floor. No trace of [Redacted] could be found, say for the bleeding scar left on Elaina’s face, and a pained heart.
